I'm getting really excited about my show! I've gotten a couple of listings so far, including Greenpointers, which is actually the blog I found out about the gallery opportunity at Kill Devil Hill, which lead to me having a show there.

I posted this postcard before, but realized having plain text in addition would be helpful, so here's the scoop:

Dirty Lines: Illustrations & Soft-Core Embroideries
The Art of Rebecca Levi

2-Day Pop-Up Gallery at
Kill Devil Hill
170 Franklin Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

(take the G to Greenpoint Ave, it's just a couple of blocks away - easy!)

I'm hoping to meet more folks from the blogging and embroidery communities there!

All the best,
Badecca

Postcard for My Show

I am so relieved to have the invite for my show done!

I hadn't used Photoshop for ages, and my version of it is ancient. But necessity is the mother of invention, and I ended up having fun putting this together.

Big Felt Flowers

It's been a while since I have spent some time with one of my favorite craft blogs, the Purl Bee. I particularly enjoy following Molly's Sketchbook, as she specializes in patchwork, and also does a lot of embroidery, Sashiko, and other beautiful stitching projects.

I was quite pleased to see Molly's Felt Flower Pillows project - I love the combo of the cheerful, bold yellow blooms and the more sedate neutral colors. There are so many great felt project on the web, but mostly on a real micro level (eg: verybigjen's amazing pincushions) - I like how Molly's project uses unexpectedly generous pieces of felt.
